I’m Patricia Steinmann-Britt, a contemporary artist based in Sargans in the Swiss Alps.
Nature, travel and the quiet beauty of fleeting moments shape the way I see the world and the way I paint.
When I paint, I wear a white dress that gradually collects traces of color from my work.
I wipe my brushes on the fabric, leaving behind marks, layers and fragments of paintings created over time.
What began intuitively has become part of my artistic practice – a second canvas that carries the memory of the works I create.
Just like my paintings, the dress evolves with every new layer.
I build my paintings layer by layer, using acrylics, oils, mixed media and natural materials.
Texture, contrast and movement are essential in my work.
I love the moment when chaos slowly turns into calm and a painting finds its own balance.
Each work is unique – created with passion, intention and shaped by the places, memories and moments that inspire me.
